Beit Rafqa - A non profit organization
A philanthropic endeavor, Beit Rafqa aims to offer the elderly the opportunity to enjoy their twilight years. We offer everything from state-of-the-art facilities, to a clean and comfortable environment, to specially planned activities. But most importantly, we handpick staff that are dedicated to ensuring Beit Rafqa remains a nurturing community for everyone.
As family members grow older, it can be increasingly challenging to provide them with the care and attention they require at home. Beit Rafqa’s goal is to offer the elderly a secure and nurturing environment while giving them round-the-clock care, nutritious meals and the opportunity to participate in engaging activities and connect with like minded people. Our goal is to provide them with the best they are used to at home.

Helping The Poor
In keeping with the mandates of the Gospel and in human solidarity, Saint Joseph Monastery strives to
extend a helping hand to our less fortunate brothers and sisters who knock on our doors seeking food
assistance as well as help with medications and basic necessities.
Because of the economic situation, the financial instability, the devaluation of the Lebanese currency, and
the scarcity of Job opportunities, a large number of people are living below the poverty line and find it
very difficult to provide their families with basic daily needs and are forced to meekly seek assistance.
Saint Joseph Monastery strives to offer in kind assistance with basic food, clothing, dairy products for
children and financial assistance to obtain medications especially for chronic illnesses.

Saint Rafqa Basilica
Since the canonization of Saint Rafqa on June 10, 2001, thousands of visitors from all over the world started to flock to her grave for Benediction, prayers and intercession. Prior to her canonization, the nuns at Saint Joseph Monastery wanted to build a big church in her name to minister to the thousands of visitors especially during the main celebrations such as Saint Rafqa's feast day, Sunday services as well as special occasions, and to include a center for conferences, meetings and religious formation.
Several difficulties arose concerning location and finances. Finally, it was agreed upon that the Basilica will be located near saint Rafqa's first grave at Saint Joseph Monastery on a small hill overlooking the nearby villages.
Saint Rafqa basilica is still under construction.

Current Projects
Oasis
The oasis we are currently building was built in 1948 as a retirement home where the sisters cared for the elderly. After the construction of Beit Rafca, a retirement home located just about five minutes walking distance from the monastery, this establishment was left vacant and unoccupied. This led us to create a guest house, an oasis, where visitors or sick people who are seeking the blessing of Saint Rafca can find a place to rest. The oasis is currently under construction, and here is the study of this project along with some images once completed.

The Cafeteria
Since Saint Joseph monastery is located in a calm and serene yet remote area away from any nearby restaurants or eateries, the Monastery, thanks to the generosity of many benefactors, built a cafeteria open all year round to make it easier for visitors to purchase provisions and delicious meals at affordable prices.
The Factory
To produce economical food provisions, the Monastery built a small modern plant adjacent to the Convent to produce food items and provisions. Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, this small factory will make the labor of our nuns more efficient and of good quality. The food products will carry the Monastery's own brand.
The Solar System
Due to the country's unreliable electrical power supply, the generosity of many supporters and benefactors, helped us install a 445 KVA capacity solar system to provide electrical power to the Monastery and Beit Rafqa.
Many of the residents of Beit Rafqa are on time and temperature sensitive medications. This solar system provides adequate power supply to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of Beit Rafqa and the visitors to the Monastery.
